- 1). Decide what section of your silverware you would like to use for your earrings. Use your creativity -- use the tines of a fork, or the handle of an ornate knife, for example.
- 2). Mark the section you intend to use for your earrings using a permanent marker.
- 3). Cut along your markings with a hacksaw. Brace the silverware against a sturdy table to provide support.
- 4). Drill a hole through the top of your silverware earring using an electric drill and 1/16th-inch drill bit for metal.
- 5). Smooth out any rough edges with a metal file and rasp.
- 6). Attach earring posts through the holes to complete your earrings. You can purchase posts from any craft or jewelry supply store. Attach the post by slipping it through the hole you created and applying a dot of quick-bonding glue to adhere it in place.
