- 1). Measure the iTouch. Getting the measurements will make it possible to make a case in the appropriate size. Use a measuring tape to measure the sides and width of the iTouch. If making a case where the screen and button will show through it, measure the screen and the button as well.
- 2). Cut the fabric. Cut a little extra fabric in comparison to the length and width. This provides a little fabric for sewing the hems. There are two options for cutting: cutting one piece of fabric and folding it in half or cutting two pieces of fabric to create an even seam on both sides. Cut according to personal preferences.
- 3). Turn the fabric so the inside is facing outward. On the side that will cover the screen, trace the screen in pencil and draw the circle for the button. Cut out the rectangle and circle along the lines. Leave just a little extra fabric when cutting, fold it back and sew up the hem with a needle and thread. The final rectangle should be sized using the screen size as a guide.
- 4). Place the fabric on the iTouch so that the rectangle and circle are placed properly in the hole in the fabric. Pin the fabric on three sides, leaving the fourth side open. The fourth side is for the top of the iTouch to insert it into the case.
- 5). Take the iTouch out of the pinned case and sew the fabric together. Sewing is done from the inside so that when it is turned right side out, the excess fabric is on the inside. Sew up three sides, leaving the unpinned top alone. If sewing from one piece of fabric, only two sides need sewing. Leave a small opening at the bottom for the iTouch wire on the right side of the case.
- 6). Fold down the top and sew a hem along the top of the fabric. The case is completed.
