The emergence, or can we call it resurgence, of static caravans once again after many years as a popular holiday option is not surprising.
Once associated mainly with seaside vacation spots, they have made a comeback mainly due to the following reasons: a) Modern static caravans are very well designed with all possible amenities, giving the residents the comfort of a home or bungalow at a cost that is a fraction of what they would have to pay for a fixed home.
b) The economic recession has forced many people to reconsider spending money on extravagant travel holidays outside of the UK.
c) People are looking for flexibility and leisure in their holidays which they find is missing in conventional holidays arranged through a travel agent or tour operator.
d)The hassle of flying outside of the UK and having to put up with highly demanding security procedures at airports of late has also influenced many to shirk international travel.
Families with children often find these procedures and other associated routines a cumbersome affair.
e) Aspirations of people have been tempered down from what it was earlier thanks to the economic conditions.
Now, instead of wanting a fixed holiday home by the countryside or sea, they are looking at a more affordable option in the form of a static caravan that they can take with them anywhere they choose to.
So what should you look for when you wish to buy a static caravan? Apart from the interiors of the caravan and state of art features, space requirements considering the size of the family, one major factor is the location.
Thankfully, the UK is blessed with some wonderful countryside locations where you can place your static caravan.
These locations have holiday parks with all the conveniences necessary for a great vacation.
Ideally you should concentrate on parks that have the membership of The National Caravan Council as they would follow and comply with all rules to make sure that caravan purchasers get a good deal.
Next in line is the budget that you afford.
That will dictate whether you would be able to buy a static caravan brand new or you would have to settle for a used second hand one.
Not that there are any problems with a second hand one, but the first preference would obviously be a new one considering that you are looking at an investment for the next five to ten years.
When you make your selection, make sure that you are dealing with a sales person or team who have a thorough working knowledge of static caravans as well as parks and are able to offer you expert advice.
They should be able to offer you a wide choice of colours and models so that you can take your decision at your convenience and after a lot of consideration.
