- 1). Open Internet Explorer. Click "Tools" listed at the top of your screen. Click "Internet Options."
- 2). Click on the tab labeled "Content." Find the section labeled "AutoComplete" and click on the "Settings" button. A new window will appear.
- 3). Click on the check mark next to the words "Address bar," "Forms" and "User names and passwords on forms" to clear the check boxes. These actions will prevent search terms from being stored in the computer's registry, according to the Microsoft website.
- 1). Open Firefox and click "Tools" found at the top of the browser menu.
- 2). Click "Options." A pop up window will appear; click on the "Privacy" tab.
- 3). Click on the selection next to the words "Firefox will" then click on the selection that reads, "Never remember history."
- 4). Click on the "OK" button to apply the change. Firefox will no longer remember your browsing history.
