How to Draw Wolverine - It is Not That Difficult

In the world of comic book heroes, Wolverine, from the X-men series, is among the most popular.
Wolverine is a powerful mutant with tremendous self healing abilities and knife like claws.
To the beginner, drawing this glorious being may seem difficult.
However, by following these simple instructions, anyone can render a good likeness of this beloved character.
The easiest way to begin drawing anything is to start by breaking the object down into simple shapes.
For instance, we begin drawing Wolverine by first drawing a series of circles and basic lines.
In the top, center area of your paper, draw an elongated circle or oval to represent the head.
Just below that circle, draw another, larger circle to represent the body.
Draw some lines from the body circle to represent the arms and legs.
Then add some small circles in the appropriate areas to represent shoulders, knees, elbows, hands and feet.
Draw some more lines out from the hand circles to represent the claws.
Sketch in Wolverine's hair by first adding some basic triangle shapes to each side of the head, then gradually adding more detail and definition until you are satisfied with the result.
Add some more circle and/or oval shapes to the lines you have drawn for the arms and legs to represent the muscles of the forearms and biceps, and the thighs and calves.
Lightly draw a cross in the center of the head.
Draw two small, almond shapes, one on each side of the horizontal line of the this cross, to represent the eyes.
Lightly draw in some lines above each almond shape to represent eyebrows.
On the outside of the head circle and just slightly below the horizontal line of your cross, add two small circles for ears.
Draw a small rectangle shape inside the bottom portion of the head to represent the mouth.
Draw smaller, elongated circles inside the hand circles to indicated the thumbs on Wolverine's fist.
Now it is time to add more definition to your character.
Shade in the eyes and add the pupils.
Shade in the eyebrow area, thickening them up and adding definition as you do so.
Draw the nose and add some shading to show depth.
Draw sort of a zigzagged line into the mouth rectangle for teeth.
Sketch the fingers into the hand circles and add some shading to the claws to give them more definition.
Draw some curved lines on the torso where it joins the shoulders and head to represent Wolverine's tank top.
Draw some lines in the legs and lower torso to show that the character is wearing pants.
Add some shading around the legs and arms to form depth and definition of the character.
Also add shading to form creases and wrinkles in the characters clothing.
When you are satisfied with your drawing, trace over your final outlines and shaded areas with a pen.
Finally, erase any remaining pencil lines that you no longer want or need.
