- 1). Open the Adobe Photoshop program.
- 2). Click the “File” option on the top navigation bar and click “Open.” The file navigation box opens.
- 3). Navigate to and click on the screentone file. Click the “Open” button. The screentone opens as an image in Photoshop.
- 4). Click the “Rectangular Marquis Tool” from the Toolbox.
- 5). Draw a rectangle by dragging the rectangle marquis tool around the entire screentone image.
- 6). Click the “Edit” button on the top navigation bar and click “Define Pattern.”
- 7). Type a name for the new screentone pattern into the “Name” input box and click “OK.” The screentone is now available as a pattern in Photoshop.
- 8). Click the “Pattern Stamp” tool from the Toolbox and click on the screentone. Drag the cursor on the canvas to fill smaller spaces with the screentone. Alternatively, click “Pattern Fill” and click on the screentone to select. Click inside a larger area in the image to fill the area using the screentone pattern fill.
