- 1). Sign up with every legitimate company that offers paid surveys to their members. You may not be interested in completing $3 surveys, but these survey companies offer online focus groups to their members sometimes. Keep in mind that if you don't complete lower-paying surveys, you may be missing focus groups. Sometimes, a survey asks you to participate in a focus group without prior notification.
- 2). Comb through forums related to "working from home" and "taking surveys for cash." Forums related to these topics often have a thread or folder completely related to online focus groups. Respond to these advertisements fast. The more people who respond before you, the less chance you have of them picking you.
- 3). Visit websites such as Craigslist and use search terms like "online focus groups." Look at advertisements that are less than a week old. If one advertisement piques your interest, respond to it by following all the poster's directions.
- 4). Look in your local newspaper's classified advertisements section. Companies in your area may need people to give their opinion about products and services. Many of these opportunities are solely based offline, but some may be primarily online.
- 5). Use search engines, such as Google, Bing and Yahoo to find online focus groups. Search relevant keywords like "online focus group opportunity." Alter your search terms to get a large variety of results. Use quotations around these keywords to omit irrelevant results.
