- 1). Select a cell of data in the pivot table you are working on.
- 2). Double-click the cell with your left mouse button. Another spreadsheet will open in the workbook. It will list the records of the original data table that are summarized in the pivot table cell that you clicked. These records will have the same level of detail as the original, unsummarized data table which the pivot table uses as its source.
- 3). Add a previously-hidden field selectively to one value of a visible field as follows. Highlight the field value you want to see more detail on. Click the button on the pivot table toolbar with the plus sign in it. This is the Show Detail button. A small panel will open up. Double-click on which currently-hidden field you want to see your selected visible field value broken down by. When the panel disappears, only that field value will have further detail breakdown.
