Sell Downloads - Make Money Online Selling Digital Downloads From Your Website

Would you like to sell your own digital products from your own website?

Let's say you have a collection of great cooking recipies you have bullt up over of many years and your friends and family are always saying to you, "You should sell some of those recipies, they're delicious!" You may have considered this a good idea but have not gone any further with it as you haven't had a clue as to how to actually do it.

I am going to explain to you that it is not as difficult as you may have assumed. Okay, not all of you are looking to sell Grandma's Secret Marmalade recepie (secret: add a dash of Scotch whisky to the marmalade mix), the good news is that the information I am going to give you here applies to absolutely ANY product you can produce in digital (electronic) format. I'm talking about ebooks, MP3 music files, digital movies, advice videos, user manuals, software, articles, legal forms, artwork or anything for that matter - YOU can make yourself money from any of these items you have created, and why not? You deserve it.

Going back to the cooking analogy, it is almost like a recipies we have to follow. You will need the following ingredients: Your fantastic digital product, some web space out there on the world wide web, a free business account with Paypal to handle the money and access to the aforementioned web space via FTP or your web host's control panel.

The final ingredient we need is a delivery system; a waiter with a serving plate to bring your product from our kitchen to your paying customer, if you will.

The internet has many websites offering services that can do this task for you, Clickbank and Payloadz, are just two. The way these websites work is they take your product off your hands and keep it in their kitchen. When a visitor to your website clicks to buy your product they are transported to the delivery website's kitchen who then get their waiter to bring your hot cooked product to your customer.

Of course, these websites charge you for the use of their kitchen and waiter. In most cases, the charges are usually a flat charge per transaction plus a percentage of your product's selling price as a sales commission. Sometimes there is also a setup fee or monthly subscription fee to go along with these fees. It can all add up to quite a bit.

There are cheaper alternatives which work directly on your website so there are no fees to pay for ongoing subscription, sales commission or transaction processing. In fact the only fee to pay is the purchase fee and that's it. You can then use the software to sell as many products as you like on your website.

In summary, anybody with access to the internet can sell their digital creations online, and some new and innovative software products have just made things that little bit easier and more affordable. Be sure to shop around carefully instead of opting for the first big site you come across, just because everyone else is using it.
