Tips to Get Snakes Out of Your Yard

Most people do not want snakes to be in their yard or garden.
While there are some snakes that can be beneficial as they will keep rodent populations under control, there are some people who would never feel comfortable having them around the yard.
There are a few things that can be done to deal with snakes so that you do not have to have them around.
The first thing you should realistically look into is a rodent pest problem in your backyard.
Snakes will stick around if there is plenty of food to eat.
If you take care of the potential rodent problem, snakes can move on naturally as there will not be a food source to eat.
The next thing that you will need to do is to remove areas for the snakes in your yard to live in.
Mow the yard and make sure that the grass is kept nice and low.
Many snakes like areas with a few inches of grass so they can hide in them making it easy to hide and look for their prey.
Get rid of large piles of wood and sticks in the area.
If you store these in the yard, keep it off the ground.
Get rid of rocks and other things that a snake might be able to hide under getting out of the sun.
Be sure to carefully store yard toys and other things so snakes will not seek shelter underneath them.
One very easy way to deal with snakes is to use cat litter.
This can get into the snakes skin and cause them quite a bit of discomfort.
Spread this around your yard and your garden to keep the snakes out and away from these parts of the yard.
Sulfur is another common repellent but it can cause some problems with the quality of your soil making your plants not grow as well.
