Acne - The Real Effects

Dealing with acne is a really painful experience.
If you've never had the displeasure of suffering through acne then you might tend to shrug off the emotional effects caused by this skin disorder.
The effects are more than just skin deep and can literally be life changing.
As a teenager I was constantly battling with acne.
I don't mean just a few pimples or blackheads but I mean full blown acne.
The result was a less than promising social life and extremely low self esteem.
Soon my low self esteem developed into full blown depression.
This depression affected every aspect of my life.
Soon this depression started to affect other area of my life.
I went from being a straight A student to failed and I stopped participating in all sports.
Basically, seeing all of my friends get girlfriends while I was stuck alone made things worse and worse.
I didn't even want to get up to go out because I knew that everyone else was going to be with their girlfriends and there I would be all alone.
It wasn't until I started to outgrow my acne that things started to get better.
My parents have tried to help with my acne by buying all the latest greatest products but even those had very little effect.
Whether the products on the market today really help or not it's tough to say but one thing I can tell you is that a child or teenager with acne can always use a shoulder to lean on.
It's tough enough to be a teenager without acne making you feel even more like an outcast.
