- 1). Set up your key light so that it will be 45 degrees to where your subject will be.
- 2). Position your subject and have her turn her face toward the key light. Be sure that the light falls on the side of the face and body that is away from you. The shadow effect is what makes the subject look thinner.
- 3). Dial down your fill light. This will deepen the shadow that makes the subject appear thinner.
- 4). Use the camera to photograph your subject.
