- 1). Open all the car windows except for one of the tinted ones. Connect the extension chord to the outlet nearest the car. Drag the other end out to the car, making sure you have plenty of length to work with inside.
- 2). Fill the steamer with water from the jug according to manufacturer specification. Plug it in. It may take a few minutes to get steam coming through as it takes time to heat up.
- 3). Find a corner of window where the tint film is exposed. This is a good starting point. Steam this area for about a minute and then pick at the edge with your finger until it begins to peal back. Pull very slowly while administering steam to the exposed edge of the film.
- 4). Pull on the film while administering the steam. The trick is to pull fast enough to get the job done, but slow enough to remove the glue. If you pull too hard, you might rip the film or you will pull the film off and leave the glue on the window which is difficult to remove on it's own. Do this until all the film is removed from one window.
- 5). Use an adhesive remover to remove any extra glue. There will definitely be some glue left behind. Finish the job by washing the window with glass cleaner and a clean, dry rag.
- 6). Repeat steps until all of the undesired window tint has been removed.
