Carpets are not the cheapest of items to purchase no matter what the occasion or circumstances.
In such scenario, it is important to be aware of the alternate options available to you which can provide your present carpet with a new look and feel making it just like new.
One such option is to resort to carpet dyes which are considered as a cost effective and efficient method to treat your carpets by bringing about their natural shine and soft and comfortable feel.
Carpets made with nylon as well as wool can be easily dyed.
However, materials such as acrylic, polypropylene and polyester will not respond to carpet dyes.
The prevalent state and brightness of the color of your carpet will be the only indicator upfront which will enable you to decide on the type of dye that you may use.
Different colors when treated with appropriate dyes would produce a specific desired color on your carpet.
However, you need to be mindful of the fact that the intensity of brightness of the color may not be exactly the same as you had it in your mind.
There may be minor or major discrepancies in the final color after the dye has been put it to.
So you need to be mentally prepared for it.
In most of the cases though, the desired result can be easily and readily achieved without any surprises.
A lot depends on the quality and quantity of dye that is being used.
So always ensure that you are relying on a quality product.
By way of example, a blue carpet when treated with a red dye would produce a purple colored carpet.
With white and beige colors, it is easy to transform them into any other color with the help of an appropriate dye, except for deep black color which will not be possible on such light colors.
Also, always bear in mind that a dye would only produce a darker or brighter color and never the other way round.
So if you intend to lighten the color of your carpet, then dyeing them will not give you the desired result.
There are two methods which are commonly resorted to when dyeing the carpets, i.
e.
by spraying the relevant dye with appropriate pressure (around 150 to 500 pounds) or application of dye by means of a rotary scrubber which comes with bristles made up of nylon.
