The concept of colon cleansing dates back in early 19th century in the United States of America. Since there was little scientific evidence to support the good benefits of colon cleansing, the theory fell out of favor later. Not a large number of research findings are there to support or reject the theory of colon cleansing. However, in recent years, colon cleansing using herbs, teas, enzymes have got attention as more and more people prefer to do it hoping for a good health.
Now the question is, is colon cleansing really helpful?
There are mainly two types of colon cleansing. One is the cleansing method using colon cleanse products available around us or bought from medical shops. The other is the colon irrigation by a practitioner. Both methods try to expel the contents from the colon.
The purpose of colon cleanse products is to remove the stagnant toxic wastes on the colon walls. There is no substantial research evidence to support that the toxic wastes are removed by the natural colon cleanse products. According to researchers the natural bacteria in the colon kill the toxins and this is well enough for our body. Also, the mucus membranes in the colon keep the unwanted toxins from entering into the tissues and blood.
The use of natural colon cleanse products do not however result in side effects and therefore a safe option even if there is no scientific support for the practice. Just like servicing a vehicle or machine, our body also requires servicing regularly to keep it well. This is especially important because the purity of our modern artificial foods is decreasing continuously. In fact, the root cause of many ailments in our body is the impaired digestive system.
The colon cleansing is highly effective for people with obesity and increased weight. Just like massaging or doing an exercise for our external body parts, colon cleansing can be an internal cleaning to give the organs a smooth functioning.
