How to Remove a Pin Headlight

    • 1). Turn the headlight switch in your vehicle to "Off." Turn off your vehicle and prop open the hood with the hood support rod.

    • 2). Disconnect the wiring harness on the rear of the headlight assembly by pressing inward on the side tabs and pulling it straight out.

    • 3). Twist the weather cap counterclockwise until it is loose enough to pull off.

    • 4). Disengage the metal clip securing the headlight and headlight socket in place by pressing it inward. Pull out the headlight and headlight socket.

    • 5). Put on your latex gloves so that the oils on your fingers do not touch the glass of the headlight bulb, because they can reduce the bulb's life span.

    • 6). Twist the headlight bulb so that its tabs line up with the depressions in the socket and pull the headlight free of the socket.
