How to Make Your Own Hankie Wedding Dress Favors

    • 1). Iron a square cotton handkerchief with or without lace. Fold the handkerchief by bringing one corner to touch the other corner and iron the fold.

    • 2). Lay the handkerchief on the iron with the flat side on top. Fold the right corner down to touch the bottom corner. Fold the left corner down to touch the bottom corner. Press the folds well with the iron.

    • 3). Draw the top of a sleeveless dress to the waist on paper and cut it out. Make the neckline a simple scoop neckline. This is your template for the top of the wedding dress.

    • 4). Fold a piece of card stock in half and place the top of the wedding dress along the fold with the shoulders sitting on the fold. Cut along the template, cutting out a hole for the neckline.

    • 5). Open the card stock dress bodice, and place a miniature three-inch hanger inside. The top of the hanger goes through the neckline and the sides of the hanger go through the arm holes, just as if you were hanging a dress on a hanger. Tape the hanger in place with double-sided tape.

    • 6). Tape the handkerchief to the inside bottom of the card stock dress bodice with double-sided tape.

    • 7). Glue a small rhinestone or small flower to the waist of the dress, either in the middle or slightly to one side.

    • 8). Place another piece of double-sided tape on top of the handkerchief, and close the card stock, pressing down to seal the bodice to the dress skirt.
