- 1). Cut the bags so that they lay flat. Next use your scissors or rotary cutter to cut the bags into pieces that are two inches by four inches.
- 2). Place a piece of the cut chip bag on your mat, silver (inside of the bag) side up. Fold and crease the piece in half lengthwise. Next, unfold and fold each lengthwise piece into the center crease. Next, fold the entire thing in half lengthwise, which will hide the edges inside. The next step is to fold the piece in half the other direction and make a crease. Fold both of the short edges so they meet in the center fold and crease. Fold the entire thing in half so the short edges are inside the piece. Continue this process for all the pieces.
- 3). Link the pieces together, you can do this by sliding one edge into the slot of another until almost all of the pieces are used. Leave three or four for the strap. You'll have a long chain.
- 4). Make an oval to the size that you would like the purse to be. Using your thread and needle, sew the rows together by running the thread through the space between each link. Make sure they fit together, without any gaps.
- 5). Use the three or fours pieces you saved to make your strap. Make sure to secure them to your purse by linking them with thread.
