Hiding Places For Cat Litter Boxes

It is not nice to walk into someones home and see their toilet straight away.
Imagine walking in and there is the toilet, with the door open and the lid up.
It is really something that is unsightly and not only that, it is unhygienic also.
The very same principle applies to where your cat does his or her business.
Their cat litter box is their toilet so if someone comes to visit you and you have one in plain sight in your kitchen or your living room then that person will want to leave or possibly not visit you again.
This means that it is important for you to hide your cat litter boxes.
You want it to be so that your beloved cat can easily find it and also so that they can easily use it.
There is no point in finding a great hiding place if your cat cannot actually get in there and do nothing with it.
Moving it to a location that is hidden needs to be permanent move and a permanent decision.
If you only hide the litter box when guests come over or when someone unexpectedly visits you, your cat will become very confused indeed.
Finding a permanent hiding spot is essential.
It is essential because you will need to retrain your cat on where the new location is.
They will eventually figure it out for themselves too but you will need to show them where it is for the first few times.
The new place will need to be one where your cat feels comfortable and safe doing their business.
Make sure you do not move their litter box to a place that is great but that they do not like at all.
This would be a silly decision.
There are many places and ideas for hiding places.
There are also many new cat litter boxes designed just so that they can be hidden.
You can place them in the bathroom underneath something or even in the cabinet below your sink if there is enough room there and if you do not keep any of your belongings in there too.
That would be a bit unhygienic.
There are also cabinets and other pieces of furniture that are designed just for the sole purpose of hiding litter boxes for your cat.
Have a look around your home and have a look at pet stores and online and get some ideas for where you should move your cats litter box.
