Hi there.
I am going to tell you about my experiences with asthma, exercise, and my night time breathing experiences.
Then I will explain what I did, so that I could have a restful sleep, and even cut down on my snoring! I am not a doctor, nor am I giving you advise.
We do however live in America, where we have some liberties to speak, and pragmatically that should mean that we should have good will towards each other.
While training for the Olympic trials for Judo years ago, I would go to sleep at night after a good work out with a headache, and sometimes would wake up gasping for air and sitting up not feeling really good about lying back down again.
As time went on, I found myself sitting up in bed trying to catch my breath more and more often.
After some research I found that I had many allergies that aggravated my breathing such as dog hair, dog dander, dust mites, and of all things, house dust.
(Try escaping from that one).
I also had become intolerant of to many dairy products such as cheese, milk, and even chocolate.
I noticed that if I had too much of any of these products, I would wake up gasping for air in the middle of the night, especially if I had been working out that evening.
The combination of working out and eating the wrong things was deadly for me.
Fast forward 25 years and there I was at ground zero.
No results from anything.
I admit that in the past I had found temporary relief in the middle of the night from antihistamines, and allergy pills, but I only used them in emergencies because I don't like taking them.
After having an exercise induced asthma attack, my body would be vibrating and nervous in the middle of the night making it hard to sleep once my sleep had been disturbed from an attack.
This was very stressful and I wasn't sure what I could do about it.
I was watching TV about a year ago after nodding off and being woke up not breathing, I went on the web to do a search for anything (natural), no drugs that I could take, knowing that the odds were against me, after all I had not found anything to date, that did much of anything, and guess what? I found what works for me, and I want to share it with you.
FISH OIL!!! I had it all the time in my bathroom.
The Omega-3 Fatty Acids (fish oil) was from Trader Joe's, and I took 3 at a time right before going to sleep after working out, eating chocolate, having a bowl of ice cream, and smothering my face in my dogs fur.
I slept like a baby and did not get up except to go to the bathroom once.
The fish oil does not clear my breathing a hundred percent but, I would say it improves my breathing at least 90 percent.
Praise god for this wonderful gift.
By the way, I have not been awakened in the middle of the night, not even one time, in the last year, so speaking for myself, I am calling this a victory!! There are many more articles on the net and I invite you to research the benefits of fish oil and asthma.
There is a ton of good info.
