Being able to work from home is awesome.
Making money from home is even better.
The sad truth is, that many people join a network marketing company looking for a way to be able to make money working from home that never make a dime.
In fact, when you look at the statistics, less than 5% of those that join a multi level marketing company will succeed at growing their home based business.
Most MLM companies will tell you that you only need to bring 3 things in order to be successful at working from home.
You need big reason why.
You have to be teachable in order to make money from home.
Finally, you need to have a little money.
The amount will vary depending on which network marketing company you join.
Frankly, joining a multi level marketing company is considerably cheaper to get started in a traditional business.
So, why do more than 95% of network marketers never make a dime working their home based business? If you are doing everything that your highly successful network marketing company is teaching you, why aren't you growing a successful business from home? You know I asked myself that same question.
I did the 3-way calls to my upline, I spent ridiculous amounts of money on leads, I passed out videos and business cards, I did the hotel meetings, I did the expensive ads in all the papers in just about every state across the country.
I did all of these things for more than a year.
I couldn't for the life of me figure out why I wasn't making any money at this presumably easy business that anyone could do working from home.
I got rejected time and time again, no one joined my network marketing business, and I created enough credit card debt to keep me in the red for a very long time, just trying to make the minimum payment.
Now I know that I didn't have any sales experience but they said that was good because they would teach me everything that I needed to know.
There was talk that some people have a longer learning curve than others.
I guess I had a really long way to go.
Looking back I think that I was just willing to do anything to become a success at my home-based business.
One day I got a call and this guy asked me a question.
He asked, if I would like to know how to add 20-30 people a week into my business, would that be worth about 45 minutes of my time to find out how to get that done? I started to do the calculations in my head.
At the time I would have been happy to learn how to ad one person a week into my home based business.
So I said yes, please show me how to add 20-30 people a week into my business.
The result of that phone call was that I learned that there are 3 mediums if you will that people use to grow a network marketing business or any business really.
The first one is the telephone.
You have to master the telephone in order to be able to grow a business.
If you don't know what you are going to say to a customer when they call you for information, then you will probably lose that customer.
So, with this I learned that 3-way calls are not an effective strategy.
The second way you can grow your MLM business is through the written word.
You have to be effective in getting someone's attention with the printed word if you want to grow your multi-level marketing business.
The last thing you need to master in order to grow your MLM business is the Internet.
The Internet is a very powerful tool when it comes to marketing your home-based business.
You can reach millions and millions of people and never have to leave your home.
Here is the final bit that most people miss out on.
You have to master all 3 if you really want to grow a successful network marketing business.
Actually you can earn a pretty good income with just the phone but you have to have mastered the phone before you move on to mastering ad copy and you have to have mastered both the phone and ad copy before you move onto the Internet.
Now I know that there are people out there that would disagree with what I have said and that's fine.
There are a lot of people that say that a college education is mandatory if you want to have a successful well paying career and there are plenty of people who make it big that don't even have a high school diploma.
So in a way they are right, you don't actually have to have an education in order to be successful in a home-based business but there are some who do need the education.
