- 1). Wash your hair with a clarifying shampoo. Rinse it thoroughly with cool water and towel dry. Drape a large towel around your shoulders and attach the ends of the towel using clips, making a cape. Comb the tangles out of your hair with a wide-tooth comb.
- 2). Part the hair from behind one ear to the other, across your head. Divide this section down the middle. Gather each section into a clip. Part the back hair down the middle. Gather each section into a clip.
- 3). Follow the manufacturer's instructions and combine the henna with hot water in a bowl. Put on disposable gloves and cover the area with a sheet.
- 4). Remove a ½ -inch section of the bottom hair from the back sections. Dip the brush into henna mixture. Apply the mixture at the root and bring it down the hair shaft to the end. Continue this process until both sections of the back hair have been coated with the henna mixture.
- 5). Remove a ½ -inch bottom section of hair from the side section. Dip the brush into henna mixture. Place the brush at the root and bring it down the hair shaft to the end. Repeat this process until both side sections have been completed.
- 6). Insert the hair into the shower cap and allow it to sit for up to 3 hours. Rinse the mixture out using warm water. Comb your hair.
