Adding layers to a person's hair involves cutting the hair at different lengths throughout. Layered hairstyles add a new style or ease to certain hairstyle types. However, one should carefully consider the negatives as well as the positives about layering their hair. Layers may cause problems that one didn't foresee when getting a change of look. - One pro of cutting layers into your hair is that it can add volume and body. This is great especially for those who have fine, thin hair that lacks some movement to it. Adding the layers will provide the hair with lift and the illusion of volume. Blow drying the hair will increase the amount of volume the hair has.
- Layering your hair can also add a nice, sometimes needed change to your look. Changing your hair style every once in a while is a good thing. It can increase your confidence and give you a new outlook on things.
- A negative of adding layers to your hair is that it can be time intensive to style and care for. A layered haircut is going to require styling, especially if you don't have a natural wave to your hair. Using the blow dryer with a round brush may be needed on a daily basis to shape the hair the way you want it.
- The nice thing about having your hair all one length is that you can pull it up whenever you want. However, layered hair can be difficult to pull up when needed. The shorter layers may come out of the clip or ponytail and fall into your face. This can prove to be very difficult especially for athletes.
