Snoring effects many men and women around the world and can be quiet annoying.
It can keep you awake all night; it affects not only the snoring person but also the people around.
The main cause of snoring is a blockage in the person's airway.
When breathing in and out it causes a vibration against the blockage which in turn produces a sound we all know to be snoring.
There are also other causes of snoring like enlarged tonsils due to cold or flu, soft palate, gathered fat in the throat or a misaligned jaw.
Snoring is more prominent in older people but effects children as well.
If snoring is a problem for you there are some remedies you can follow which will help you to stop snoring.
Try to avoid sleeping on your back; this can be quiet difficult as you are not aware how you sleep.
There are devices which you can purchase which are strapped onto your back and prevent you from sleeping on it and thus stopping snoring.
This remedy is quiet effective and should be the first one you try in order to stop snoring.
If your snoring stops with this remedy then you need not bother yourself with the others.
The easiest snoring remedy to stop snoring would be using medical tape.
This method is a bit unconventional where in the snoring person tapes their mouth shut with medical tape before they sleep.
This forces the person to breathe through their nose which eliminates snoring.
A nasal brace or a nasal strip work in a similar way.
When applied they force the nasal cavity open so that there is no obstruction and the snoring ceases.
A nasal spray is also an option; it works by cleaning the nasal passage and allowing the person to breathe freely.
A simple lifestyle change is likely to cure your snoring.
People who are overweight are more likely to suffer from a snoring problem.
Exercising is likely to help with mild snoring.
It reduces the fat build up in the throat giving you relief and stopping snoring.
The exercise need to be done on a regular basis and not occasionally.
Also switch on to a healthier diet which is low in fat.
Smoking as well causes snoring and it is important to quit.
If that is not possible cut back drastically on the number of cigarettes you smoke in a day and then quit, it will improve your snoring.
The amount of alcohol you consume should also be reduced.
Using an anti snoring pillow might also be helpful as a snoring remedy.
When it comes to snoring remedies it is important to be constant and regular and be patient as nothing will happen overnight, and if one remedy to stop snoring is not working try the others.
