Carmelita shares these instructions for making a Valentine's Day card mailbox using an empty laundry detergent box.

• Age Guideline: 6 Years and Up
• Time Required: 30 minutes (Does not include drying time)

The above age and time guidelines are estimates. This project can be modified to suit other ages and may take more or less time depending on your circumstances.

 

Materials Needed:

• Empty laundry detergent box

• White Con-Tact paper
• Construction Paper
• Hook and Loop Tape
• Craft Glue or Hot Glue Gun and Glue Sticks
• Scissors

Instructions:
Cover the entire laundry box with white Con-tact paper. Cut a variety of heart shapes out of construction paper. Take one heart and glue it onto the lid on the fron of the box. You want it to hand over the edge so also hangs over the bottom of the box. Glue one piece of hook tape the the back of the overhanging heart and then glue one piece of loop tape to the box so it lines up with the loop tape when the box is closed.

Now you can decorate the rest of the box with heart cut outs. You can also cut out letters to spell the word "mail", your name, or anything else you want to write on the box.
