The State of Kuwait, a sovereign Arab nation and one of the world's fastest growing economies, is planning to have media school offered in the University of Kuwait. These plans were presented to the schools council of departments. The council then recommended conducting more research and studies on the subject before approving the independent media school plan. The media school would offer programs that are found in media studies collages, sound engineering collages, photography colleges, and journalism collages found in most of the top universities around the globe. Most of the students at the university see this as an improvement on the educational institution.

When it comes to media, Kuwait has very transparent media practices. Journalists who are based in Kuwaiti enjoy a greater freedom with their work than their regional counterparts compared to other Arab countries. The state was ranked with the number one spot by the Reporters without Borders of the Middle East and the Arab League freedom of press index in 2007. This is no wonder why they would put up a media school at one of the state's best universities. Students who would take programs and courses in this school are assured freedom of press which is vital. The school will provide future journalist, photographers, and other media practitioners all the knowledge and tools they need to deliver fair and just news and opinions.
