Kaydee’s Sassy Soap Corner - A Weekly Commentary for OLTL for June 15, 2011

< Continued from page 1
Her ex-husband may not be the man she knows, her son is a murderer-in-the-rough, her lover is a secret SOMETHING, and that something CAN’T be good. Can this poor lady get a break?

And then we have Tea and Dani. What will happen to them? Dani has finally come to love her father, after getting past all that was involved with his horrid past, and now she may have to reacquaint herself with yet another man as her real father.

Not to mention, her boyfriend is about to sucked into Hurricane Deanna. Jeez, can this child get a break?

Shane continues to be taunted by Jack and the Beanspawns, but this child has turned the tables on Jack. I had a hearty laugh at the expense of Satan Boy’s foot! As malicious as Shane’s dropping the weight on Jack’s foot was, I found it justly hilarious! GOOD FOR THAT DIABOLICAL LITTLE PSYCHO! He didn’t even have chemistry when he yelled out in pain. The writers might as well kill him off, since he seems dead already. Oh, and here’s a newsflash to both the writers-NOT and the little Tin Kid…if Jack’s foot was broken, why is he NOT limping? Shall we chalk that up to another blooper from our wonderfully efficient writers?

I despise the fact that this pathetic little brat has everyone’s lives wrapped around his little finger of mayhem. I hate that he has Blair engulfed in maternal dread and torment, Gigi in fear for her son’s life, Rex on edge waiting for the opportunity to commit a crime against the kids who hurt his son, and Shane has to look over his shoulder, waiting to see what the what the cyborg is going to do next.

Who the heck is he to have everyone in such a whirlwind of fear, grief and panic? If Gigi dies, I hope they fry the little terminator in boiling oil.

I am glad to say that seeing Aubrey and Rick less onscreen these days is a little bit of a buffer to the aforementioned garbage. However, Joey being delayed from moving forward for ANY reason involving Aubrey still makes me reach for my Pepcid AC tablets. UGH! I don’t think I stopped cheering when he took action and went to the police station to file a kidnapping charge on Ford. Seeing Aubrey trapped and busted in her own tricks was the highlight of my week, folks! Cutter has lost the little bit of favor he had from me as well, and he needs to go. Nigel’s disdain for his new employer is the only funny part of this whole scenario in my opinion.

But, then we have the flipside….Please follow along with me as I present…

Pepcid Moments of the Week

MOMENT ONE: RAMA AND CRIS!!!! YICK! Come on, writers! Really? Did all of them fail chemistry? Didn’t anyone tell them that ammonia and bleach don’t mix? I wasn’t any good in chemistry either, but I knew what made a good explosion, what was just a dangerous mix, and what just didn’t go. Newsflash, Cris and Rama? JUST DON’T GO! Could there be anything else more nauseating? I’m nauseated just writing about her. So, please writers, kill the hookup and send Rama away…NOW!

MOMENT TWO: TESS AND FORD!!! YICK plus! This one does more than just turns my stomach. It infuriates and disgusts me. Robert Ford..wait for it…RAPED JESSICA! The fact that he wants to play Sir Gaga over Ryder, the child conceived in that RAPE, or fall in love with Tess, an imaginary fragment of a person created by the woman he RAPED, doesn’t make the union any less abominable to rape victims everywhere. I commend Roger Howarth for walking away from the show back then because he practiced that same belief. Where in this scene do the writers find romance? Rape is NOT romantic! It’s not sweet, it’s not a scientific experiment for some mad doctors to use as a way to discover if lowlives can be redeemed through degrading a person’s human rights and conceiving a child in that violation. This is abominable!

MOMENT THREE: Natalie and Brody. No nausea here, just unethical and immoral crap. If they’re trying to get Jessica back from Tess and get their lost loves back, REPEATING WHAT CAUSED THE SPLITS IN THE FIRST PLACE isn’t exactly the best method to use.

Nora and Bo continue to struggle with Matthew’s condition, and it tears my heart to shred to watch as Destiny hangs in the sidelines praying for a little tidbit of hope that he’ll survive. I was totally enraged with the way Nora practically slammed the hospital room door in Destiny’s face when the doctor came in to discuss Matthew’s condition. I get that she’s devastated. I am a mother, I would be fighting tooth and nail for my child. But she was rude to someone who is actually supporting her position on Matthew. Destiny has loved Matthew since before he could walk again. She has been Matt’s champion even when he went demonic. Nora should have been a bit more tactful in requesting privacy.
