Data security is at an all time high.
We are constantly being reminded that we need to take extra special care of our data.
When you see government officials losing laptops on trains with potentially sensitive data on them and the emergence of arson attacks on the rise it makes you think that maybe we should all be more careful we how we store and who we allow data access to.
Thankfully there are a number of companies who have had the same thought as us and they have been busily working away behind the scenes to create a number of security software devices that will enable us to remain safe and secure.
One of those companies is Data Barrack and they have been working on their own version of Data Barracks online backup system to help provide consumers around the world with fast, efficient and secure software solutions.
Data Barracks online backup solution basically revolves around the internet.
Basically clients can backup their data securely to one of the company's web servers through a secure portal and this holds a number of key benefits.
Firstly, Data Barracks online backup solution is offsite of the customer's premises.
This means that if the customers building were to burn to the ground or someone came in and stole one of the computers the company would still be able to remain functioning the following day.
If either of the above situations were to befall the company then they would quickly and easily be able to get up and running simply by logging on to a new machine and logging onto the online backup server and retrieving all of their data to that specific machine.
Another reason to utilise a system utilising online backup is simply from a utility point of view.
If you perform in house backups then you will need to purchase a lot of removable media like CD's or data discs.
Obviously you will need to have weekly versions of these and it is probably preferable that you have at least a month's worth of data.
With online backups you can just create new folders for each day that you create and then you can remove some of those folders when it gets particularly busy.
One thing that it is important to remember is that no company can survive without some form of backup procedure, eventually it will catch up with you and if you lose all of your customer data then it could be the end of your company.
