How to Clean Lime Deposit From a Dishwasher

    • 1). Fill a small bowl with white vinegar. Dip an old toothbrush into the white vinegar and scrub over the lime deposits. The vinegar has an acidic quality that dissolves the lime deposits. Continue until the majority of the buildup is gone.

    • 2). Rinse out the bowl and refill with 1 cup white vinegar. Place the bowl in an empty dishwasher and run a short wash cycle. This will flush out any leftover lime buildup.

    • 3). Use the vinegar every one to two weeks to keep lime buildup at a minimum.
