How to Find Out If Someone Has a Warrant for Violating Parole

    • 1). Contact the person's probation, parole or supervising officer. The former inmate must submit monthly reports on his conduct and behavior to this person. If the state has issued a warrant for a parole violation, this officer would most likely have that information.

    • 2). Contact the parole commissioner for the designated state that granted parole to this person. The parole commissioner has the authority to issue a warrant if a former inmate violates his parole at any point.

    • 3). Visit your state's department of corrections website. Certain states allow you to look up an inmate's status. The website will also tell you if he's currently in an institution, on parole, in violation of his parole or has a warrant out for his arrest. If the person in question is a serious offender, a picture of him might even be up on the website.
