Families taking care of children with disabilities can often benefit from financial assistance. For example, families may have uninsured medical costs or bills for their child's special equipment or services. While many New Hampshire agencies and charities can help in several ways, such as by providing direct services to children, families may also need extra funds for a variety of purposes, and should look for organizations that give grants to individuals. - The Harry Gregg Foundation, affiliated with the Crotched Mountain charitable organization, makes grants to support New Hampshire residents who have physical, emotional or intellectual disabilities. As of 2010, the Foundation has distributed almost $2 million in grant money. The Foundation's grants have paid for families' uninsured medical costs, special equipment, modifications for homes and cars, adaptations for work sites, attendance at special camps for children and caregiver respite services. Families must meet income eligibility requirements. Applicants must submit their information online through the Foundation's website.
