When I was running my personal training business I had stuff like marketing to sort out, sales systems to create so I would have interested prospects knocking on my door and a whole lot of other stuff Ill tell you about

So why would I need sales and marketing skills and systems setup? Well I need to promote! And part of promoting means selling and marketing yourself to potential prospects who might now or in the future have an interest in the service or product you are providing. If I didnt sell or market myself, chances are I would have lost my business and ended up on the streets. So having a good quality sales system setup is crucial to your long-term success. If youre looking at starting your own home business and youre not sure where to start, then youll need to investigate thoroughly the company and people youre going to work with so to be sure they already have these systems setup for you to take advantage of.

I also had to create an at home work office space so I could write up exercise programs, consult with clients over the phone or just because at times I needed a quiet space to research and study without distractions. Why would you go to all the trouble of starting something new, but not investing in some time and effort to setup your ideal responsibility champion work space? I wasnt going to just sit there and watch my life go by while I procrastinated about getting the right tools I needed for the job. Along with equipment, I also invested in myself. This was super crucial because I realized that the rate in which I grow as a person, is in direction proportion to the rate in which my business grows. If I grow a little, my business will grow a little. If I grew a lot, my business would grow a lot! Pretty cool philosophy when you think about it. So when I thought about making all those introductions to new faces and felt a bit nervous (yes Im human!) I just overcame with by telling myself that this is just one step in the road to success and creating the business results I want.

Accounting and doing your own filling can be a real pain, I tried to do a lot of this myself but after a while I decided to outsource it to an accountant who knew what they were doing and could get the work done much faster than me and there wouldnt be any loopholes or anything missing. Outsourcing your paperwork and admin is really crucial once you can afford it because that allows you to focus on your key money makers. Things like, sales and marketing and actually working with clients.

Work with a business coach. If you want to be highly successful in something, does it not make sense to seek the advice of someone who has been there and done that before you? You can learn from all the challenges they came across and instead of hit those same challenges, they can in fact steer you around those or even prevent them from happening. You can become much more efficient learning this way, because you know youre doing the things that will create the results youre looking for, rather than always testing things to see if they produce the result youre looking for.
