About Male Skin Care

About 20 or so years ago if you asked a man if he used a moisturizer on his face, you would probably get a look of indignation.
If a man used a skin cream, he did not let anyone know.
Men shaved and then applied an after shave lotion to their face.
This was known as skin care for men.
In recent times, men have become aware of the need to take care of their skin as they do their body.
There are a number of  products on the market for men and not just products that are for specific skin disorders.
Following a daily skin care regimen can help to prevent skin disorders.
If you look through the cosmetic counters in the men's department in your local stores, you will find that the major manufacturers of men's colognes are also manufacturing skin moisturizers, cleansers, and lotions in addition to after shave lotions.
Male skin is different from that of women.
The skin care regimen, however, is the same.
It starts with cleansing to remove the dirt, grease, and pollutants from the skin.
Cleansing also prevents pores from getting clogged.
Do not use soap.
Water soluble cleansers are preferred.
Cleansing should be done at least once every day, twice a day if you can manage it.
Skin care for men revolves around shaving.
This requires you to select the appropriate products for shaving.
Skin type is a main consideration when selecting products.
You should avoid alcohol based aftershave lotions.
A good quality razor should be used.
In this case, one with a swivel head is better to avoid cuts.
Products and tools should be used properly.
Male skin is generally thicker and oilier because they have larger pores and more active sebaceous glands.
Their skin can become dehydrated due to regular shaving.
Moisturizers are very important in skin care for men.
A moisturizing gel or cream should be applied after shaving.
Most shaving foams and gels have a built-in moisturizer.
When using a moisturizer, pat it gently over the face and massage gently using upward strokes.
Also important  is the use of a sunscreen.
UV rays are not good for anyone's skin.
There are sunscreens that have a moisturizer build-in.
Men's  products also have natural ingredients such as aloe vera, sea salt, and coconut.
Skin care for men is just as important as skin care for women.
If you take care of your skin, as you age your skin will stay healthy.
