Can Fast Food Be Healthy? How To Lose Weight Without Giving Up The Drive Thru!

I don't know about you but I don't always have the time to fix healthy meals. A lot of time I am in my car, running errands. And even when I am home I don't always feel like cooking. So what is the answer? What is the easiest thing to do for most people? It is very easy to pull into the nearest fast food place, but can fast food be healthy? Well, it can be if you pick the right things.

These days a lot of fast food places have their menus available online, often with the nutritional information. It is possible to make healthy choices even while on the run.

Of course most places have salads, which can be a good choice as long as you check the ingredients. A salad with fried chicken on it probably wouldn't be the healthiest thing you can choose. Make sure the chicken is grilled. Ask if it comes with croutons in a packet or already in the salad. Of course you can defeat your good intentions by choosing a high fat dressing. Most places offer low fat, low calorie dressings.

If you are tired of salads there can be other items that are healthy. I like to order a side of pintos and cheese at Taco Bell or a baked potato at Wendy's. KFC has grilled chicken that is very tasty. Instead of fried chicken strips order the grilled chicken strips at Jack in the Box. In a pinch you could always order a grilled chicken sandwich and skip the bun. Another healthy choice is Panda Express. You can get an entree and a side at a very reasonable cost. Choose an entree that isn't fried or in a heavy sauce and add the vegetables. Now you have a delicious, filling meal.

Eating right doesn't mean you can never eat outside your house or that you have to carry your meals with you. With some planning and good choices you can eat healthy at almost any fast food place. If possible, two times a week try to be completely vegetarian and avoid meat. Go to subway and try a veggie delight and see how much lighter you feel.You can be healthy any place you want; it is all about the choices you make. Mix and match. There are so many healthy side dishes available. Chose you won combinations and make your own meal. You can make everything unhealthy healthy. Just be creating and be aware of the calories. The rest is easy.
